NOW A BRIEF HISTORY OF TALLON
Pre-Birth
Nearly 18 years ago, a boating enthusiast in New Zealand’s Southern Lakes District discovered a problem with his new boat - there was nowhere to put his keys and no good place to hang a glass of wine, a mug of coffee or a can of beverage. Being something of a pragmatist, Peter Marshall set about fixing his problem.
The Birth Itself
First, Peter developed a unique concept for an ingenious universal accessory mount - The Tallon Socket. Next he invited a few close friends and family to join him in taking the product to the New Zealand marine market. Growth was instantaneous.
The Early Years
What happened next surprised everyone - Tallon found themselves at the International Boat Builders Exhibition in Miami, Florida where they scooped a prestigious innovation award. Then followed the Most Innovative Chevrolet Accessory at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas USA. So the next step was obvious… get world-wide patents and design registrations for the Tallon Socket.
Coming of Age
The following few years saw Tallon develop a range of marine accessories, fully interchangeable through the Tallon Socket. In solving his drink and key bunch problem, Peter and the team solved common accessory problems for all boaters worldwide. At last, a mounting systems that was: flush, so precious space is preserved; versatile, giving users the ability to mount, swap out or stow commonly used accessories; and strong… real strong! In fact the Classic Socket is loaded tested to and incredible 600kg in straight pull out tests!
Full Blown Maturity
Three years ago the Tallon Team took another giant step and created their Mini Socket range - smaller versions of the Classic socket designed to slot quickly and simply into vehicle switch blanks and knock-outs. Although much smaller, Mini Sockets are as strong as the dash or coating you put them in!
With the Mini Socket range, came a whole host of premium mobile device mounting solutions. The followed the launch of Tallon’s popular USBs, meaning Tallon has delivered premium mounting and charging solutions for vehicles, marine craft and aircraft.
